Many of our seasonal workers come back year after year and if this is not your first job in hospitality, we can build on your experience and knowledge in a variety of positions at the resort. The Summer Work Program is open to anyone 18 years of age and over.  

To be eligible for our Management Internship Program, you are required to have completed a summer position with us previously, so our Summer Work Program is where your career in hospitality management really begins!

OPPORTUNITIES!

Banquets & Catering

Gain a wide variety of experiences in multiple banquet and event settings either working with the Catering team to prepare event rooms for meetings, food service and group functions or with the Banquets team to provide seamless and efficient food service during functions. Ability to work quickly but with strong attention to detail is necessary to ensure continuous customer satisfaction. Strong customer service and excellent hospitality skills are essential.   This is a great foundation for a career in Event Planning, providing you with an understanding of the preparation, service and break down of all kinds of events, large and small.

Internship add-ons: Rotation between Banquet Serving and Catering Set-Up, Rotation to Banquet Bartender (if over 21) or Beverage Office, Shadow a Sales Manager, Event Meeting Manager or Convention Services Manager, Attend pre-con and post-con meetings.  Evaluations and additional project work as needed.
 

Beverage

You may work as a Lounge Server or Banquet Bartender if age 21 or over if you have some previous food & beverage experience.  Bartender positions also available, no previous experience necessary.  Learn the ropes in a variety of settings within the resort, indoors and out in a fast-paced and fun environment.  Take some time to learn about our vendors, scheduling, forecasting and other management responsibilities behind the scenes.  Customer service and assertive hospitality skills required for all beverage positions. 

Internship add-ons: Rotation between our many Food & Beverage Outlets (wide variety to suit your individual goals), Shadow Beverage Manager, Meet with vendors, Attend pre-con and post-con meetings.  Evaluations and additional projects as needed.
 

Restaurants

Opportunity to build and develop service skills and learn more about the Food and Beverage industry in JB's Boathouse casual restaurant, Windrose Marker 26 restaurant or LandShark Bar and Grill on the water as a Dining Room Assistant, Server, Bartender or Host/ Hostess (depending on experience and skills).  Hospitality skills and neat appearance are essential. Ability to handle a busy work environment while maintaining excellent customer service is essential.  This provides a great introduction to the industry in a bustling, high energy environment.

Internship add-ons: Rotation between our many Food & Beverage Outlets (wide variety to suit your individual goals), Shadow Restaurant Managers, Attend pre-con and post-con meetings.  Evaluations and additional projects as needed.
 

Front Desk

Develop strong customer service and organizational skills working on Front Desk or PBX (Operator).  You must be able to confidently extend a warm and efficient welcome to our guests every time.  Assertive hospitality, good communication, typing and cash handling skills are essential.  The environment on Front Desk is fast-paced with a strong attention to detail and a willingness to do what it takes to provide every guest with a seamless check in/ check out experience.  Professional appearance and ability to remain calm are also essential.

Internship add-ons: Rotation between Front Desk, PBX, Night Audit, Guest Services and Housekeeping.  Shadow Front Office Manager and Reservations Manager, Attend morning Management meetings.  Evaluations and additional projects as needed.

All positions require you to be able to work a flexible schedule with days off being scheduled according to guest demand.

**Memorial Day Weekend and Independence Day Weekend are required work days.**
